Study Central’s affordable monthly package offers everything you need tutor online.
How does the Study Central pricing work?
Our standard package covers your first 10 students.
Fundamentally, we charge per student, but to keep things simple, we group students into 'packs'. The more students you have, the cheaper it gets per student. The Standard Pack is our starting point, which gives you access for 10 students in one subject (maths or English) for a month. Once you have more than 10 students, you will be asked to add a Booster Pack, where you can choose to add another 5 or 10 students (10 students is cheaper per student).
All packs automatically renew monthly unless cancelled. We do offer discounts, when you take the second subject, for example.
No hidden extra costs
Importantly, there are NO HIDDEN EXTRAS. Because we don't process parent's payments for you, we don't have to add processing fees or service charges/admin fees. It's these fees that often significantly increase what other platforms might charge for their service. Although you might think that having a platform manage the money for you is a good thing, it's expensive when compared to doing it yourself and we promise that it's easy to set up! If you've not done already, we recommend that you join The Tutors' Association, as they have all the information and tools you need to operate a profitable and ethical tutoring service. And, as a Study Central subscriber, you get a discount on your annual subscription for them!
How much can you earn as a tutor?
Small group tutoring to maximise revenue
We recommend that you organise tuition sessions in small groups of up to 5 students at a time. Each student will pay a per-session or a monthly fee to you for your lessons. However, you can also use Study Central to run your tutoring on a one-to-one basis if you prefer.
Our monthly subscription is per student rather than the number of sessions they attend, so you can hold as many lessons a month as you would like per individual enrolment. This gives you complete control over your students’ learning and your revenue potential.
Tutor rates
You set your own tutor fees. Typically, our research has shown that these can vary from £18 for an unqualified student tutor to £30+ per session for a fully qualified teacher.
We’ll let you do the maths, but as you will see, you can cover your subscription costs and run a profitable business very quickly by enrolling just a handful of students.
